About the Journal

The SEAQIS International Conference on Science Education (SICSE) 2026 will be held on 2 June 2026 at Hilton Bandung, Indonesia, under the theme “Empowering Science Learners through Inquiry-Based Education.” The conference is organized by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Quality Improvement of Teachers and Education Personnel in Science (SEAQIS) as a platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration among science educators, researchers, and policymakers from Southeast Asia and beyond.

SICSE 2026 emphasizes the importance of inquiry-based learning in science education, promoting approaches that engage learners in questioning, investigating, and constructing evidence-based understanding. The conference aims to share current research, innovative practices, and strategies to enhance science teaching and learning, while strengthening professional networks and partnerships .

The event is expected to gather approximately 250 participants and will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and parallel presentation sessions from selected papers across key sub-themes, including inquiry-based teaching, STEM integration, teacher capacity building, technology-enhanced learning, and inclusive science education.

Through this conference, SEAQIS seeks to advance meaningful discourse and support the development of transformative, inquiry-driven science education practices globally.
